"With unfailing kindness, life teaches you what you need to learn." Pema Chodron
Hello, I'm Linda Clark-Borre. Several years ago, I retired from my work as a University professor in the College of Business at California State University, Chico. Before that, I was an executive in the vast field of pharmaceutical-biotechnology research, development, and marketing. In those roles, I worked closely with organ transplant patients, including children, individual families, and organ donor organizations. I also worked with oncology patients and others with serious diseases. It was a privilege to be brought close to those dealing with the uncertainties of illness and to get to know the medical professionals who cared for them.
When I was a young mother, between the ages of 22 and 29, I was a foster mother to children with multiple disabilities. Each taught me advanced lessons about courage, love, power, and how much we benefit from the simple will to learn. We can all do it in some manner of speaking, even when our bodies are tired and our progress seems slow. Humble students of life know what's controllable and what isn't, and become more skilled in anchoring themselves in a turbulent world as they practice all that courage, love, and will have to offer as lessons.
We benefit from good companions along the way.
A member of the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) and Spiritual Directors International (SDI), I'm educated/certified in areas related to theology, faith, comparative religion, and global wisdom traditions. Two full units as a Clinical Pastoral intern in Level I and II hospitals further honed my skills, as raw experience often does.
Seeking the highest truths in all faith traditions and life experiences, my background and desire for continuous learning enable me to support others on their journey to wholeness and peace in a turbulent world.
Today I serve as an on-call Fire Service Chaplain in a 55-square-mile district and volunteer with the Willow House Organization, which supports grieving children and their families.
